Ok so my car won't start, its a 89 Silvia K's with the CA. I go to turn it on and everything comes on but the car won't even crank. BUT if you kick start the car it works. Whats odd is that it did this before and after pushing the car a bit I tryed to start it and it worked when I turned the key. Any chance the starter is done? or wires loose on the starter? I'm really confused here. I thought it could have been the MAFS becasue some white smoke came out before but then again the car WOULD crank if that were the case. Now its 9:00 am and I am 30 min late for work

I would bet it is the clutch mirco switch is worn away and not engauging so your starter is unable to engauge because the button isnt being pushed

chek under your pedals, I bet there a black rubber cap looking thing down on the floor.

It never needed the clutch pushed in to start befoe lol. Ok so I did another test and got it started by kick starting it and I tryed to crank it while it was runing and the starter wasent even turning. So its somthing with that, but what could it be?

Check your Neutral switch (the one on the transmission) and the little switch on your clutch pedal (same as the one for the brake lights). if both of those are fine (if they aren't that could be your problem) it sounds like your starter is either loose or shot
