Like the title said, I think I have a fuel pump problem. Let me go over the symptoms with everyone:
I was leaving church on Sunday, and I started the car just fine. I was only about 200 feet out of the church parking lot and the car died. I tried to start it back up, and it tried to but wouldn't. I tried a couple more times and the car wouldn't turn over, sounding like it might crank less and less each time.
I tried all of the fuel pump regulator tricks to no avail. Unless there's some sort of manual reset trick like I used for the windows when I got a new battery, I'm pretty sure it's the fuel pump, because I've had this same problem before. I'm at about 105,000 miles now, but at around 35,000 my car was running and died, unable to start back up, at an Arby's. When we took it in to Nissan, they said I had a fuel pump out. The symptoms are all the same for me right now, so I'm fairly certain that's it.
Any other possibilities?
If not, does anybody have any clue what the cost of a Fuel Pump for an '07 is? I actually had the fuel pump replaced in early 08, I believe, but with one of the new fuel pumps, not one of the old faulty setups, so I doubt any kind of warranty will cover it.
I'm just wondering how to get out of this in the cheapest way possible (I also know next to nothing about cars).
I do love this car though...aside from these two fuel pump problems, the only other thing I've had to do is replace the battery since I bought it in September 07. Solid car.
Thanks for any help, and sorry if I said too much.
Chris
