a little background on what i have done so far....

Rb25 in S14Q45 MAF with SAFCIIstock everything else

the starter cranks but the motor just won't do anything.I can hear the fuel pump and the pressure in the lines goes up.

i went throught the manual and did as many of the diagnostics as i could:

ECU diagnostics light gives code 55 -- all goodCAS voltage was a little bit low but very close to the numbers in the manualFor the spark plugs, i'm not quite sure. i don't even know if i did it right. i pulled one of them out and tried to start the car and i saw no spark. I then had my little sister crank it while i wa holding the spark plug and i pushed it into the boot at 1 point and it sparked and shocked me. i know, very stupid. the only problem is i don't know if it actually sparked because it was working or because it used me as ground.

for the diagnostics procedures from the manual, this is what i have done so far:

continuity between pin E on ignitor harness and body(ground)---nonebut there was continuity between ground and the 4th pin(middle one).

CAS continuity between pin 4 and ground---none

Coil pin 1 and ground(check voltage)----none

Continuity for Coil pin 2 and IGN relay position 5 --- continuity was there

Continuity for Coil pin 3 and ground ---- none

pin 1 on each coil to their connections on ignitor --- continuity was there.

Voltage for Coil's pin 2 and 3 to body -- 12v for 2 and 0v for 3

in OFF position, Continuity between pin 2 on Coil and position 5 on IGN relay --good

This is what i managed to go through for now. I seem to be getting no continuity on a lot of the ground connections so i'm thinking i have an issue with the grounding or there is an issue with my ECU. i remember somebody once had an issue with ground signals and later found a burnt resistor on the ECU. Tomorrow i'm going to open up the ECU and take a look at it. I also want to check the injectors but i have a feeling thery probably won't have continuity on the ground pins either.

If anybody can think of anything i should focus on or if there is anything you can think of or that sounds familiar to you please let me know. i need a lot of help on this one. my car has been down for too long.

Sorry for the long read, i'm just trying to paint the picture the best that i can

Thanks

you need to hold the threads of the spark plug against a suitable ground to test for spark (anybolt on the engine works)

sounds like a Type 1 RB25, did you wire your injectors? they need a switched 12v source so the ECU can ground them so they fire.

I didn't get a chance to check the injectors. seeing as i smelled no gas when i took the spark plug out, its possible i have fuel pressure but no fuel from the injectors. that will be my first thing tomorrow.

One other question i have is how is your ignition relay wired. I have two wires on the KA side marked as ignition signals, one B/R and the other i think is Brown. On mine i have the B/R from the relay going to the B/R from the KA. Also for the Constant power, do i connect the Red wire and the White wire on the RB to the Red(i think) wire on the KA. They both need constant power but i only have the one constant power wire on the KA side.

Thanks

so, i tested the spark plugs the right way this time and got spark. so that is not the problem(i hope)

fuel injectors.........

in the manual it says the fuel injectors' plug is a 6 pin plug, on mine its a 8 pin plug with 7 wires.

the diagnostics part:

voltage between injectors' harness pin 3 and ground --- 0vjust to be sure i checked voltage between all 7 wires and ground and they all were 0v

continuity between pin 3 and pins 4,5,6----noneactually there was no continuity between any of the wires on that plug.

continuity between ECU pin 109 and the harness on the actual injector----none.there was also no continuity between ECU 109 and any of the 7 wires on the injectors' plug.

So, Kamin, you were right on the money. there is no power going to the injectors at all. I really suspet my relays. the IGN relay looks like its ok since the spark plugs are getting power. the ECCS relay on the other hand seems to be the culprit. just to be sure, i also opened the ecu and everything in there seems to be fine.

can anybody post how they have their relays wired. i have mine wired according to the R33 pinout diagram but i don't even know if i followed that right since some of the wires are not quite clear as to where they need to be going

thanks
