So I finally get my car from the states and just when I got all excited it dosen't start. It turns over and then it slows down when turning, my lights come on fine but when it starts to turn all my lights go out. My gas tank only has less than the last tick mark. I talk to a italian mechanic and he said it may be the fuel pump but I dont think that its the problem. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks

A bad alternator + a dead battery maybe?

my car finally would not start a couple of days ago. It will crank and crank but will not start. I put in a fresh battery and have ordered a new alternator. Is there anything else I should check?

It could be the starter but that usually will make a grinding noise when it starts to go bad. I've heard some that just make a clicking noise when they've gone bad. Have you checked the cables that connect to your battery? Make sure they're free of corrosion and they're in good shape - no cracks or exposed wires.

All the connections are good, absolutely no corrosion, I don't hear anything from the starter. The battery's volts from what the gauge reads 12V. Is that enough for it not to start?
