My 98 240sx won't start. It is stock (KA) except for intake, headers and a short shifter.

When I turn the key none of the warning lights (SES, Airbag, brake, etc.) come on, BUT all of the accessories and the radio come on. I thought that it was the ignition switch, so I replaced that, but no luck. So, what else would cause the warning lights not to come on with the ignition in the start position?

try jumpstarting battery. even though usually the lights come on, it could be a start.

check your fuses too, i dont know what all would happen if the ecu fuse happened to blow or break loose, but it could cause these problems.

Ive tried jumpstarting before, with no luck, even got a brand new battery.

All of the fuses tested good. I couldnt find the ECU fuse, though?

Tomorrow, im gonna try to test the ECM terminals as outlined in the FSM and see if I cannot find anything there.

It seems like the ECU isnt turning on, and I cant even test it with my OBD 2 tester.

Alright, I just tested all of the ECM terminal wires that I could with only the ignition switch 'on', and the car not running.

Termnals 56 and 61 (B/W) - Power Supply for ECM does not have powerBUT Terminal 70 (R) - Power Supply (Back-up) does have 12 volts.

Im wondering if it could be a fuse (I cannot find a fuse that is labeled ECM, or some variation) or if the ECCS Relay could be bad, but I dont know how to test it.

I just tried to fool with it again, and found out that my alarm is to blame.

When Tweeter installed the alarm they spliced the Black/Red wire (from ignition switch) to power the alarm. The alarm works fine, but power isn't being sent back to the Black/Red wire to go to the ECU. I jumped the original wire with a fused wire and it started fine. Now I gotta find out if something is wrong with my alarm, or if I gotta live without it.
