car won't start

Ok. i have a 1990 nissan 240sx ka24e. I just replaced the starter a week ago and i now it isn't the problem. I go to start the car it cranks and cranks and cranks but never picks up on its own. it won't roll start even. I know it is either the fuel system or spark loss. I hear the fuel pump come on but it shuts off after like 5 seconds it has always done this and the car would run fine. If any one has any ideas it would b greatly aprriciated

IF you are not getting any spark:

Diagnose everything leading to the distributor, sprak plug wires, etc. Do you have an FSM? If not You should, it will save you a lot of time. There is a link out there that lets you download the complete FSM in PDF format, so do a search, I am sure you will find it. Check all those connections with a multimeter (you can get a good one from Radio Shack for about $40.00)

ok i know that my car can hook up to a computer but what kind of cables does it take and do i need special software if so how much and where do i get it??
