I tried the search option and didn't find exactly what's going on here.

Every once in awhile I won't be able to start the engine. The starter will crank just fine and the battery is new. I think it might be the relay but not sure. It's a 5sp manual so it's not a matter of whether it's in park or neutral or anything.

Any ideas?

Check your clutch pedal. There's supposed to be a couple of green bumpers and they like to crack and fall apart. When they do, they won't make proper contact with the switch down there that needs to think your clutch is depressed to start the car. Can't find a good pic, but should look something like this: http://www.z31.com/repairs/brakepedal/clutch.pedal.jpg . Get them here: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_in ... ts_id=3740

It's not that. The starter will crank when the clutch is pressed. The engine just won't fire up.

Check: fuel pump relay, fuel pump power, IGN relay, PTU, and all IGN system grounds, a bad or loose ground could easily do this.

Before you get too carried away, hook up a pressure gauge to your fuel line to see if you have proper fuel pressure. Anything below about 20psi, it won't fire. Without checking the manual, I think the proper fuel pressure is 43.6 psi.

That was sort of a quick post the other day. To be more specific, hook up the pressure gauge just down-stream from the fuel filter. Best spot is right off the fuel filter.

Just wanted to mention that it is not the starter rely. It would not crank of that is the case.
