car won't start...HELP!!! ASAP!

my 89 s13 sohc kept blowing the starter fuse...going to check the wire harness tomorrow to see if its worn through the harness on the where it meets the head...but there is more than just this...i jumped the fuse with a wire...just two pices of wire(little pices) so if it blew it would blow through that and not the wire its self, so it now turns over but it won't start..pulled the gas line after the gas filter and it dosn't pump gas through...whats wrong? anybody know????
