Ok, car won't start and there is nobody else home so I can't try and jump it. Interior lights come on, dash lights on Car won't crank, but when I turn the key, all I get is a CRAZY clicking noise from the dash! It started fine Tuesday (last time I drove it) and now this!!! Any ideas? I'll tell ya, the electrical gremlins this car has need to stop or it is bye bye for the S13...

It has been getting cold at night lately, so that could be the problem. I will give that a shot when I get off of work.

Hopefully your engine isnt locked up. I had to start a car at the dealership once, and when i cranked it, it would click, click, click in the place of the normal starting sound and the dash went all crazy. That would suck to say the least.

How in the heck would it be locked up? Like i said, it started just fine the other day and ran like a champ. I assume if it is locked up then it needs a full tear down? If that is the case, I am just gonna sell the darn thing...

simple solution, clean your battery terminals, check the ground connections to the battery...make sure they're darned clean (may have to replace the ends...if you want info on how to do this with off the shelf ends contact me, i've done it) i had the -exact- same problem....the clicking is a relay trying to click over, every time it hits it releases for some reason.

wiggle the wire that goes to your starter or hit the starter with hammer or wrench and see if that helps if so then it is your starter

i had the same problem with my car starting sometimes and not other times, and the battery dying and jumping it working sometimes.

your battery may have died because the power cord isnt connected while your car is running, if u get it running. i had the same problem in my 240. the battery junk eroded away part of my power wire and i had to replace the whole sub-wiring harness, (cost=$95 because the wire i had, had a fuse box on it - and the new one didnt, hope i didnt get screwed.) theres a good chance your battery died for this reason. plus after swapping in a new harness i still had some problems and i had to eventually replace the starter a couple weeks later.
