ok guys, everything is hooked up, and I go to start the car and I just hear the. "click, click" like the starter is almost trying to turn it over but won't. Then the next time I try to start it, I hear a humming noise. Then next time its just click click, etc etc, back and forth. Only 2 things I can think of are:

I messed something up with the wires that come out of the transmission and go to the lower harness (Wiring harness was for auto so the clip was cut and only 2 out of like 6 wires are used), or I messed something up when I installed my clutch pedal and its not starting because it doesnt think the clutch is fully engaged. Does a 180sx need the clutch to be pushed in when starting?

Battery reads 11.5 V.

Ground and positive connections are secured onto the starter.

Any ideas?

did you swap from auto to 5spd?

if so, you need to jump the neutral switch on the fuse box on the passenger side.

5 spd swap was done in japan. I then sold the 5 speed motorset but kept my wiring harness. Now I'm putting in a new engine and cant get it started. Would it have anything to do with the clutch pedal or the wires coming out of the transmission? Would either of those issues cause a 180 not to start?

Dude try using a charged battery. 11.5 volts probably isnt good enough. You need 12.6v

If it was the clutch pedal switch, the starter would get no signal at all and wouldnt even click.

check your main ground strap from battery box to intake manifold as well... this seems to be a commonly overlooked piece
