Uh yeah, basically as the thread title says, I noticed my car idled very high etc, and it would buck pretty hard at low RPMs, and seemed to move on its own when it should have stalled out, so I tested it, and my car won't stall out and die. What is causing this? I know the motor was an automatic, but that shouldn't have anything to do with it, should it? Any ideas or guesses?

If your using the auto ecu and there is an auto TPS on it and you use a manual transmission the engine wont kick down as quickly as a manual will. Auto cars have higher/stronger idles to keep them from stalling out when the arent moving, has to do with torque plates and stuff.

Does the idle eventually get to the proper level? Only idles high while moving?

Well, I have a mannual TPS I think, the one that only plugs into the top? When idling it will surge and go up to like 1500RPM before dropping back down to 900, when I'm driving and put it in neutral to cost, it jumps around from 1500-2000 before it settles.
