The car is running wonderfully... unless i plug in the O2 sensor... When it is plugged in the motor stumbles at idle, won't maintain speed, and stalls often. No o2 = No problems (except crappy mileage and fouled plugs?)

At WOT with or without the sensor the motor runs smoothly.

Any ideas out there in NICO land. This problem is new to me.

I just replaced it BTW No change

How is your o2 sensor plugged in? Sounds like something is grounding out when it's plugged in. What did you connect the brwon power wire for the o2 sensor into by the battery?

Well you said in your other thread you are using a '87 Z O2 now right? Then you said you took the wires out of the Z plug and put them into the SR plug. Now this may sound stupid and I'm just asking so you can double check yourself, but you are sure you wired those 3 Z wires into the SR plug correctly?

no the brown wire by the battery area. the one coming from the sr harness on the little brown plug. It needs 12v switched power for the o2 sensor. Where did you put that? Make sure that has 12v on the sr harness side when the car is on.

I'll check the 12V thing. Does it go into the plug on the terminal? I think it's a red plug if i remember right. Maybe another plug also.

And swift It doesn't sound stupid at all man... thats like asking someone if their network cable is plugged in if they can't get connected to the internet. Good call but yah i moved the wires one at a time.

Also. aren't 2 of the 3 wires just to heat it? Can i just remove them and see if it works right?

the wires from the sensor are red white and black. My SR harness wires aren't. What colors on the harness side go to what colors on the O2 side?
