Hi guys, I have a 2006 murano and it won’t rev past 2,000 rpms. I changed the transmission valve body because when driving it bogs out and picks up speed very slow. But didn’t not fix the problem. But like I said when it is in park it does not go past 2,000 rpm. Any ideas what it could be? Thank you

Have you checked your MAF sensor?

No I haven’t checked it yet. That’s going to be one of the things I’m gonna check along with the crankshaft position sensor. The weird thing is that the car doesn’t have any error codes coming up. Thank you

Weird. Sounds like it's in limp mode, but that should instantly throw a code. Are you using a proper OBD scanner?

Find somebody with a scanner that does on-the-fly realtime data logging, that should show something. If you think what was very likely an engine performance problem to begin with was a trans valvebody thing maybe you should get diagnosis from somewhere else. VB should have been nowhere on the list...........

Some codes take a while to log to become hard faults, as they can occur in normal running of the cars, and posting codes on what could be bad gas or the like would drive Nissan crazy with false warranty claims. For that reason some things get damped out to not show until they occur after a certain numbers of keystarts, or a set time period, etc. The software is set up for each possible fault as to what that trigger mechanism is.

I had the same thing. Car was stalling and going into save-mode.
Turned out that both catalysts where 'burned' and needed cleaning or replacing.
No error codes in scanner tools. So either it's unregistered or some owner before me decided to screw with the sensors?
