I've changed the oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, but the problem doesn't seem to go away. when the car reaches 2300 rpms the car starts bogging like if it had no gas. my friends think it might be the fuel pump or the MAF sensor. does any one know what it could be.

could be the fuel pump or fuel filter is plugged. If its air flow meter it may just be the connection to ground is being broke? Will the engine free rev over 2300 rpms?

well most of the time the engine will rev only until 2300 rpms but then theres times where the car will out of no where start working again but only for a few hours but then it gets messed up again.

get a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if it is loosing pressure when you free rev it. also check the distributor cap if its made in italy toss it and get a new one or if it has excessive carbon build up and its not italy replace it. check your wires and make sure they are not arching out somewhere.

we just had an o2 altima in the shop today for the same problem it was the airflow meter ,read a steady 1.03v with no change. Determined it was due to the aftermarket oiled air filter. replaced the maf and the put the factory air box and filter back on since they were mysteriously in the trunk.
