Hi guys,

I need some more help. Today i wanted to take my mom's 1996 q45 for a spin. So on the keyless remote i hit the "unlock" button. Then i open the driver side door, but my fingers slip so the door slams shut. Then when i open the door again, ALL of the lights inside (gauge cluster, door controls, window controls) and out of the car start blinking.

Then i put the key in the ignition and try to start the car, but when i turn the key, the "security" light blinks and the car wont start. After about a minute, the lights will stop blinking for about 30 seconds, then they will resume to blink.

Any ideas on what the problem is? is there a way to disable the security system?

btw, it is the stock security system.

ooooh you've done it now!

j/k, put up all the windows [may not be necessary, but for laughs], get out of car, lock doors with remote, unlock door with remote. if that doesn't work, use the master key in the drivers side door: lock, then unlock.

alarm [horn] sounding? or just lights? when alarm active [panic alarm starts 2 sec after holding 'lock' down on remote], you reset it by unlock on the remote.opening the hood when car locked will set off alarm too.

brute force method... disconnect battery for a few minutes and try again.

no horn, just lights. I tried disconnecting the battery before i posted, but for only 30sec =P. If the remote "unlock" doesnt work, ill try disconnecting the battery longer.

Ps: whats a JWT POP Charger?

Tried pressing "unlock" for 2 sec...the front windows just roll down.

Then as soon as i open the door, everything starts to blink again. Plus i hear a beeping noise everytime i blinks.

I disconnected the battery so ill just see what happens in about 20min or so.

*Edit: FIXED IT! somehow... i put the key in the ignition and fiddled with the "lock and unlock" buttons and somehow everything went back to normal =\

I have an aftermarket keyless and this happened to me twice in two years. Some combination of opening/closing the door and joshing with the locks seemed to do it.
