my s13 will not start it has been runing fine no problems. today i try to start it nothing but a very faint tic tic tic allmost a sizzling, hard to explane in words the sound it makes. the tic sound is very fast but very faint, i could not even hear it at first. its not the starter winding or anything like that i dont think its way to quiet to be that. any input on this would be great thanks.

no battery is fine jumped it with power pack still nothing. also had guy try starting so i could hear the sound from under hood instead of being in the car. its just a click click no sizzle like i thought before. it almost sounds like the click is coming from some were nere the front driver side.

i think the sound might be normal but you just dont hear it when the car starts. im just trying to be as clear as i can so i might get good info on what my problem is. i dont think its the alternater becouse trying to jump it should rule that out. were i stand now, i think it may be the starter. but please any other imput on topic will be apreciated thanks.

The tic tic tic noise you are hearing is a relay bounceing. First clean the battary terminals real good. If that dont work take your starter off and go have it checked at auto zone its free, and its only 2 bolts and about 5 min of your time. If your starter is ok then if its a 5 speed it could be the clutch interlock relay its on the passanger side inbetween the fender and battary. It could also be the clutch switch that under the clutch pedel that tells the car that you have the clutch down when you start it. Thats all I can think of right now. Oh do you have a aftermarket deck? Could be someone cut the igition wire(under the dash) and just twisted them back togather and they finally just came lose(happened to me when someone else installed a radio before I bought it).
