2012 Nissan Versa S CVT

Car would not rev or accelerate a few days ago. Put it in L and it still would not move. Had some guy help me out and we put it in neutral and the car did rev. Then was able to put it in drive and car would now rev and drive. Signs of a future issue?

So apparently, its been fine for awhile. But then a week ago it started making this whirring noise. And today we were going to drive it two hours to a state park and as I got through a toll booth, the car would not accelerate. Then it would finally accelerate but very slowly. Once we get to highway speeds, we are ok. But as soon as traffic stops, its hard to accelerate again. We managed to get back home.

The car has the CVT. We have 98,000 miles.

are you still under warranty? I ask cause the one on my wife's is 100,000 miles. if so take it in now.
