I was coming home from work and all the sudden my RPM's started reving way up when I pressed the gas, acting like the car was in neutral. I managed to coast into a parking lot, turned the car off and back on, and it worked for about another 500 feet - long enough for me to coast into another parking lot.

I had it towed home and tried to get it to work when at home. It will not engage in any gear, including reverse. The RPM's change ever so slightly, but you can not feel the car shift into gear nor go anywhere, it just revs the engine up.

Please help! Is my transmission shot?

well if it was manual i was gonna say maybe your shift linkage worked loose, but that ain't the case, good luck though, maybe the torque converter blew?

Sounds like either a tourqeconvert is shot or the clutch plates are down for.I have an auto that is sliping a bit myself but haven't had time to check if it's the converter or clutchs. Hopefully it's just a shot converter you have, that's alot cheaper than the whole transmission. Hope this gives you some help.
