I have a 2007 altima and i just installed a Viper 7900.Today when i was out the car turned on by itself while the transponder unit was off, upstairs in my room. What is going on???Thank you very much!

Your remote start is in timer mode. Not to sure on how the remotes on this one are programed as I haven't played with it, but I know that the older ones if you pressed the lock and unlock button it put it into timer mode (every 6 hours or something like that) instead of the * twice that would just remote start it once.

how would you disable "timer mode:... on the older ones?

I honestly don't remember. Did they give you a manual with the starter?

to exit timer modea. With engine off, turn the ignition to the on position.b. Step on the brakec. Open the hoodd. Toggle the shutdown switch to offThe lights will flash four times to confirm timer mode has beenexited.

what is the shutdown switch??

IF you have it (I rarely installed them because it it lead to was customers coming in with "my car won't start" it will be onder the dash. it's just a toggle switch that says on and off on it. If it's not to hard I'd go talk to the installer.
