car turns off while im driving...

i have a 1992 240sx stick stock, if im in 3rd gear or any higher and if im driving and i hold down the clutch the rpms drop down really fast down to 0 and shuts off. anybody knows what that is or is that normal for these cars??

no thats not normal in any car, i recomand you get a can of carb spray and clean your throttle body first, if that doesnt change anything let me know and we'll go from there

try just idle. If it slowly dies trying to idle check your vacuum lines (specificaly the big one on top of the firewall by the windshield)

check vac. lines anyway really

it idles great around 700rpms. its only when im driving. as soon as i put my foot on the clutch the rpms down to 500 then to 0. every time. the hoses are all new and intact. it does it when im in 3rd gear or higher.

hey every one I FIXED IT ahaah it was actually quit easy just over looked it. i had to plug the pair valve hose. i removed the pair valve but never plug the hole. i also had to plug the hole going to the pair valve coming from the intake. also had to plug the hole under the intake next to the throttle body. and had to replaced the fuel pump fuse. so if anyone is having this problem i hope this helps.

good stuff i had that problem but it was my little idle screw and all i did was adjust it a little and it stopped doing it, like it ran but when you put in the clutch it bogged down and stopped running.

Why did you have to replace the fuel pump fuse?

it went bad. and wasnt workin right

So that obviously means there is something more, then just the fuse. They just dont go bad, they are forced to blow.
