Car troubles..wont' start..won't crank..probably electrical

Ok so I'm driving down pleasant hill and my battery light and brake light come on for some odd reason....then the car starts to spudder at the beginning of gears...then i pull into a gas station and pull back out to take a left and it goes tottally dead when i try to go from the turning lane...won't crank...radio turns of when turned up higher then 15(that's when amp kicks in..that's why i'm saying it's something electrical)...

this on top of my girlfriends asthma attack this morning..missing the meeting before work..and then falling down the stairs and hitting my knee really bad are making this out to be a good weekend..what am I thankful for?...that God has a sense of humor and picked me to mess with this weekend...screw him..

Maybe your alternator. Originally (based on the thread title) I was going to say starter.... but your car wouldn't have died out like that. Definately sounds like an alternator or battery problem.
