Hey everyone just lookin for some help i have a 2001 AE maxima with about 62,000 miles and my transmission went at first when the rpm's hit about 2000 it would squeak for a second and kick in now it does even go in reverse anymore what should i do take it to the dealer or straight to aamco transmissions or lee myers transmissions any suggestions on what to do or has anybody had the same problem.. thanks for your time & help..

get it checked out at a transmission shop. might be bad valves, wiring, tcm etc

the answer depends on which of those shops are the honest ones.

Many transmission shops will automatically (no pun intended) put a new transmission in any car that they see.

A dealer would tend to make 100% sure of the correct diagnosis, and would better understand the odd things that can happen to your particular year/model car.

But the bottom line is, you gotta find the most honest shop.....

a lot of ppl say aamco is a good shop but it'll all depend on the techs employed. same with a dealership. ask in your regional forum - might get more help as far as shop choice.
