okay so tonight i just got home from atlantis bhamas .. havent drove my baby for over a week . i started it it was fine drove it around and parked at a friends house .. later the night i wanted to go to 711 and my car wouldnt start ... i jumped it with a friend ... we drove to 711 i left the car running. and then went back to his house . shut it off it wouldnt start after that ... so i left it dead till later and we jumped it .. then i drove for at least one hour and then i got home shut it off and its dead now.

idk what is the problem .

this might help.. recently the led floor lights have been going on and off everytime my car brakes. the button broke to turn the LEDS on so now when the car leans forward the metal of the button makes the lights go on idk if makybe that has anything to do with my car not starting.

BTW there is alot of curosion on the battery.

I would start with the curosion on the battery... mine was acting up because of that.

sounds like your battery is dying...it's not holding a charge...you might have to change it out

Yea man, definitly sound like your battery. If you are using the stock one, than I am almost sure that is the place to start. Just being a member of this forum for a few months I have read so many stories having to do with the stock batt. crapping out, and it happened to me.

First I would clean the battery terminals real good and make sure the connections are solid. This might keep you going while you get a good replacement. Having junk on your terminals kills the connections and can cause other problems.

Second, fix the broken switch or w/e i is for your lights.I dont know how you have them hooked up and if they are fused or whatnot, but having something like that dangling around in your car isnt good.

If you replace the battery and it still dies on you, get your alternator checked. I would also check around to any custom wiring you have done for lights/A.V., etc and make sure everything is solid and not putting excess drain on your battery. I would especially check on anything you may have wired up to function while the car is off (or directly off the batt. itself).

Hope that helps.

I probably sound stupid, but how do you go about cleaning your terminals as far as disconnecting any of the wires to be safe/what do you use to clean them.

A good way to clean your terminals is use a wire brush and brush away the crap. They make terminal brushes that have like a cup shaped brush on one end for the batt posts. and a probe head brush on the other end to clean the rings on your battery leads if you want to get fancy. Usually just brushing away all the gunk will do.

You really dont need to use any thing other than the brush. No special cleaners or anything.

As far as safety goes, just dont short between the + and the -, use a wooden handled brush. Just be carefull and use common sence. Car batteries are only 12-14 volts DC (obviously) and very high amps. The voltage really isnt enough to bite you (in most cases, but if it does you will know it). But shorting the battery could cause exposion, wich would spew acid, burning gasses, and super heated chucks of battery all over. I saw a dude bump a wrench into a battery, it exploaded and shot crap all over the place, the molten wrench too.

Its always better to be a little too safe than not safe enough.
