i put in a newer dizzy but neglected to make sure it was at TDC before pulling the distributor out, i then started the car afterwards and it ran rough. then i pulled the dizzy out, realigned crank pulley so the pin is at TDC, and the rotor is facing #1 cylinder. also checked for TDC on compression end with the screwdriver trick. it ran completely fine before i took the distributor out. now it won't turn over, it turned over a bit once but now it sounds like its struggling to get turned over. to be clear it IS trying to turn over though. i am getting fuel and spark but there were no symptoms of this before the dizzy replacement. also aired it out as to get rid of the flooded fuel too but no luck. Need car running to go to school and work, PLEASE HELP GUYS!!! Any ideas, comments and advice will be greatly appreciated.

did you put the plugs back in the right order? Check to see if they are making good contact with the dizzy cap. Also, check the igniter.

the plugs are put back correctly, i know it will take a long time but i was wondering if i just set the crankshaft pulley at TDC and remove the distributor, then align it a tooth to the left and trying to start it and repeat if necessary, will i eventually be able to start it since i checked everything else that could have gone wrong

did you mess with any of the connectors to it or to any of the ignition coil connectors.. check those. i would double check this, because im not 100 percent sure about it, but from what i remember, the markings on the crank pulley represent the position of cylnder 1. the second to last dash is 20degrees advanced of BDC of cylnder 1. then you line up the proper markings on the distributor and put in it carefully so the helical gear on the end of the distrbutor doesnt touch the inside of the head and spin while putting it back in.. if the distributor is 180degrees out, the car will not start.. you also said you had gas hydro lock or something like that?? what heppened there.. cuz i had the same thing happen to me, and i had some fuel delivery problems after it all happened..
