Crappy totaled car story follows: I was coming home from fishing up in North Georgia in the mountains. It was a nice sunny day so I was pushing pretty hard on the corners. Apparently I entered one of them too fast because it started getting sharper as it progressed and I kept braking more until I locked 'em up and just plowed right into a giant cliff The airbags popped and my driver side strut tower separated from the unibody some, so I figured it was totaled...and it was. So the white zenki is now gone.Luckily, I didn't get hurt at all. Still, the situation really sucks. I'm stranded at my school and without a hobby to occupy my mind/money. I probably wont get another car for at least one more year because I will be taking public transport to work this summer to avoid nasty traffic and studying abroad in Costa Rica next fall, so it would just sit. I'm not sure where to go from here. I lost some money, and my insurance will go up, so I'm kinda hesitant about getting another car and modding it. I was thinking of perhaps buying a modded car from someone trustworthy so they can take the hit of the nasty depreciation on cars/mods. Any thoughts on the clean stock car vs. nicely modded car thing? I think I might try to find a s13 coupe w/ kat or maybe even sr or ca or something Either that, or another zenki...

Well for starters, dont drive fast anymore outside of a closed course. Then we will see about mods again...

Yes, I realize that you really can't push very hard on public roads, too many variables and things that can go wrong. That's something I already knew, but this just reinforced it. I wasn't going for a drift attack on the mountain or something, just a nice spirited drive, when a corner that seemed pretty gentle sharpened up. Everyone drives fast on public roads sometimes. I highly doubt that all the people on this board go to a track to test out new coilovers, engine swap, whatever. Yea, its stupid, but everyone does it at some point. Some people never have any incidents, some mess up their car, and some hurt themselves or others.

I only had real accidents happen to me so far (knock on wood) and i never try to do stupid crap on roads unless they are perfectly clear and in a parking lot. Other than that i haver only done one other spot where these huge roads converge in the middle of nowhere.

..hehe, sorry man, just trying to make light of a crappy situation.

sorry about the car man, you will find yourself in another 240 soon enough, but for the meantime, dont be a stranger to NICO, when i wrecked my S13 it took a few months to save up for another car, and NICO is what kept me in the 240's , even got me into the s14

keep your head up brother

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not parting it out because I'm at school in another state and I have nowhere to do it. So, I'm losing quite a bit of money, but whatever, I can't do anything about it. Theinterior was that blue/green color, although I'm sure someone will pick up the seats anyways at a junkyard.

Ouch...double apex. I can see it now, turning in trying to hit the first apex and being bitten in the *** by a second so you brake and understeer into the rail or cliff. Not cool. Sorry about your car. I hope you stick with an S-chassis for the next one.

Next one probably will be an S chassis. I really like the combination of price, size, and performance. Not much else out there for less than $5k thats RWD, can fit 4 people, groceries, etc, and the handling is pretty good. I'm really a fan of how s13 coupes w/ the silvia front look, I may try to find a converted one for my next car. Either that, or another zenki...they just look pretty plain stock.
