Hello all, I am in desperate need of tints for my V hb. I easily tinted my 94 corolla myself with precut tints from ebay which cost me 30-40 dollars total. Now, I am going back to ebay to purchase new tints so should I go with the I was just wondering if anyone knows how to take apart the door panel. The rear window of my hatchback is not very curvy so should I just mount the tints like regular without heat shrinking it and can it go on top of the defroster wires? Should I go for for 42$ shipped which might be generic or gila brand or should I go for the 3M precut tints for $65 shipped. I know this is ultimately up to me, but I want to your input. Thx, Matt.

i personally would just wait to get it done by a professional myself, but if i were to do it myself i would go with the more expensive stuff. likely easier to work with and better quality.

Yeah, what he said. Though the V has some trickier angles, so I will a little more strongly suggest the use of a pro.

Btw, clipsed i saw your posts on speakers and since your such a pro, what speakers can you recommend for the door panels? I got around a 110 dollar budget but my friend who works at best buy can get me 50% discount on some.

lol, hey no disrespect meant bro, just thought it might be funny, because my gf thinks I am ballin in the sense of money just because of the work I do and all that good stuff. Anywho, HONESTLY I wouldn't buy anything from Best Buy just because the equipment they carry is not all the best equipment, BUT if you are going to get some equipment, get some Type X Alpines, or some Infinity Kappa Perfects, both are component set-ups, and you would need 6 1/2" systems, not 5 1/4". Both front and rear. If anything these both run about $200-225, and IMO would be the best if you could save more money to upgrade your front stage first and then the rear fill later when more funds are available. BUTTTT if you really can't save some extra $$$ then you could go with some Infinity Refrences, or some Type R coaxials which should run about $90-110, these prices are of course guesstimates on retail since I get equipment at cost and sell way below retail. So I don't know what this would cost with your friends discount, but IMO save the money instead of buying some coaxials, because the sound quality will be much cleaner, clearer, and crisper! Just my $.02. Also I would not call myself a pro, but I would consider myself more of a novice in the sense of (Rookie, Novice, Pro, Veteran) to tell you the truth, I am very knowledgable, BUT I have only scratched the surface, and their are people who know a whole heck of a lot more than I do!

Also in regards to your tint, if you can get 3M, that is your best bet! 3M has the all time best products all around! Tint especially!

Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Ooh, thanks. The thing about my car is that it doesnt have power windows/locks and it was the lowest end versa. I dont want to invest too much but there is a small chance I might. I installed components in my other car, but itt was a crappy job cuz it was my first time. Is there any place where I could put the tweeters without drilling holes? Also, where can I place the little component box without it dangling around(the box that seperates highs/lows). In my last car, I just stapled foam around it and let it dangle inside of the door, which I know is plenty ghetto. Also, I think it was you who said you were in the army? If it was, i have a few more questions for you . Thanks.

No need to invest in your car if you do not want to, I was only giving a suggestion that would benefit way more than what you were intending, the decision is up to you in the end.

The only true component system I know of that has some tweeters that you can attach to the speaker, and detach them to mount somewhere else w/ a crossover are the new Eclipse Point Source 6500, those you would not need to drill holes, and they are a true component that can handle, and are crisp and clear. You can get Eclipse at Circuit City for an arm and a leg w/ warranty (glad I get equipment at cost!)

As for the crossover, you could mount it with double sided tape somewhere where it will not get wet. In your case, I don't know what exactly you are capable of doing, or your abilities, so what you could do is mount it inside that white filler piece behind the door panel where it will stay pretty dry.

I myself am not in the army, I do have an army e-mail account through my dad who has served in the military for 25+ years, 4 in the Navy, and has been in the Army Reserve since leaving the Navy. If you do have any questions, feel free to ask, I might know the answer, I might not, if I don't I am sure my dad does, and I could ask him and let you know.

Oh, alright thanks. Well I was just wondering what he thought about the special ops. Which one pays more and which one works you harder. What do both of them mainly do differently from eachother. I am planning on training for 1 yr and finish getting my associates degree. Is it easy to become an officer or FBI or CIA agent after I am finished with the seals or any special forces because of my top secret clearance? Even with a 2 yr associates?? Thanks, -Matt

Oh and btw, could you get me any good discounts ^^.

I got 2 pairs of 6 1/2"Infinty Reference's from my buddy at Best Buy for 90bucks. They sound killer especially since I paid so little for 'em. And if you deaden the doors with edead or dynamat or whatever you choose it'll make it even better.

Edead goes for about 80 cents a square foot for the thinner stuff. http://www.edesignaudio.com/ed...count

As for tints, go with a pro. I got all 9 windows done on my V for 200 bucks. I could it have had it done cheaper but I wanted it done sooner. Also if you get it done professionally it'll give you more options when it comes to shades. And like everyone's said it'll be warrantied.

Well seeing as how I wanted to go either to the Marine Corp, or to the Army Special Forces to become a Sniper and he did not really want me to do it, I am not sure. I kinda had the same intentions, only after the military, I wanted to try to get into the Secret Service protecting high priority people like the First Lady, or maybe the president. If you want to become an officer in the military, that is a different story from the FBI or CIA. I will ask him to see what he says. Look out for an e-mai from me on your yahoo account in response to what he says.

I just got my windows tinted today and you will definately need a heat gun for the rear window due to the curvature of it. He also had to remove the door panels to do the front windows so i would suggest getting it professionally done unless you think you can do it yourself.
