I am not sure how many of you know of a program called car test but I have been using it for quite a while. It uses several factors to determine lots of different performance figures for cars. Its data base has 900 something cars in it already and you can add and edit cars as well. It lets you road and drag race cars too. This url is to the info page, don't download cartest2000 you have to pay for it, just get cartest v4.5. They both give the same results, 2000 just comes with a bigger database and a prettier interface. It will keep you entertained for hours on end. http://www.cartestsoftware.com....html

yeah, it's a lot of fun, had it for a few years now. 1/4 mile times are a bit off, but the mph is pretty accurate. You just have to edit the parameters a bit to get the 1/4 times to be more realistic.

Here's a little project for you: Make a realistically modified 240sx faster than the McLaren F1 in a road course, let's say Monaco.

With 17x7 wheels, 1.5 inch lowered, and the stage 1 nsport my 1996 S14 is only 11 seconds off pace with the 94' F1.

Yeah its a great program. Ive had it for years and its pretty realistic. The power and torque curves it generates dont fit all engines well but I recently found out you can create your own curves. In the parameters screen, you can give it hp and tq numbers at different rpms. If you have a dyno sheet, using this method can give you even more accurate performance times.

it's not really a game so much as it is an analysis software-

however that doesn't mean it's not fun.

i lost 3 hours to it the first time i discovered it; got out my written plan for my 240 and created a car for each "stage" so i could compare them all.

lol......ya i've been playing w/ that thing for months....it's usually pretty accurate for telling u what races people can win w/ lightly modd'd cars - maybe put an end (ya, right) to all those "could I beat this" threads.
