here my new latest annoyance with my car . recently its been getting prgressively worse but it has the tendency of wanting to die when i slow down to a stop in neutral recently it has been almost every time. It starts right up but idles way high (it creeps from 700-800 to 1200 to 1500 rpms ) at first i though i might be my maf or o2 sensor but i dont have any noticable chnages on my powerband whatsoever. My high rpms are fine or feel fine.. i looked yesterday for vacumm leaks but i founds nothing.. Any other suggestions? comments?

btw i drive a 89 240sx with 96 s14 motor .

yea sorry for the confusion im never realy clear and sometime i confuse myself. "when you are cruising and come to a stop it stumbles and dies?" and that would most accuratly describe my current problem with the 1200-1500 rpm idle..

Think i found the culprit though , kept the car on , unplugged the maf ( car died , thats good) . wiggled some wires, and found that a small ground ring terminal that grounds in front of the injector rack was loosely on. upon wiggling it it just broke off and now the car idle back to 700-800 rpm. going to replace it and see what happens.

so you think the bad ground on the injectors was causing your idle to double? my idle has the exact opposite problem.. seems to stall out after hard acceleration if i keep the clutch pressed in as it goes back down through the rpm range all the way straight to zero
