Guys,

I am having some serious problems now with my car. It used to just stutter once in a while, but now everytime I drive it and if I drive enough to get the car warm (like 5 miles) it will act very strange.

What it does is it will start to stutter kind of then it will just not do anything. What I mean is I will be driving along in fifth and if I give it gas it doesn't do anything at all. Then once I put the clutch in the car stalls. And it wont start back up again unless I pop start it by getting it moving and pop the clutch. And even then it has trouble starting or staying started. Then it will go through that routine again. Sometimes though it will stay running fine. This last time I pulled in my garage and as I slowly pulled in and gave the car gas it was kind rough in the low RPMs and almost seemed like it was misfiring or something.

It seems to only occur at low RPMs like less than 3000. While driving below 3000 is the only time it will stutter. And if I give it a little rev it will be rough on its way up and kinda of sputter till it gets to 3000 RPM and the rest of the way it will be fine.

Anyway, here is what I checked and have done to my car:

I have a new fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, and I checked the vacuum and it has a great vacuum.

Checked the fuel pressure and it is good. I checked the MAF and the voltage increases linearly from idle to redline, so that seems to be good.

I have checked the TPS the other day and it came out good.

Checked the power transistor and they came out ok.

Checked all evap canister stuff and they were good. But didn’t check all evap control things in the engine bay but checked some about 3 months ago and they were good.

Of course since it doesnt always have the issue tese items could still be bad even though I checked them but I dont know how to tell otherwise.

I am out of ideas and things to check.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Brad Remenak

How do I check this? Does it say in the FSM how to do it?

Thanks.
