I have a 2010 Versa and it will not shift out of park. I can get it to shift with the shift lock feature, but once it is in park it will not shift w/o the shift lock feature, again. Any ideas as to the problem that will not let me shift? Thx for the help.

Check to see if your brake lights are working. If they arn't check that fuse.

Thanks for the response. However, I already checked the fuse and it's not blown. The taillights are still working, as well. Any other ideas?

The shifter is similar on both the 4sp AT and CVT trans.

Are the "BRAKE LIGHTS" working? If they work, check the shifter solenoid operation. Turn the ignition ON, do not start the engine. Press the brake pedal. Do you hear a "click" sound near the shifter? If you don't look for the Brake Light Switch. Its located near the top of the brake pedal. Check if it's loose. Are the wires secure? Try to operate the switch with a small screwdriver. If you hear the click, you need to adjust the switch.
If you still can't shift normally. Your problem might be the key interlock cable.
Does your shift indicator line lineup correctly? - Park position switch?
