i was driving my 240 a few days ago down the street, and it started bogging out, and eventually died. for the past few months, when i start my car, it acts like the battery is dead, but i turn the key a few times, and it starts fine...what could this be? i also went to a concert downtown last month and it was flooded downtown. my check engine light came on, but the car ran fine....until a few days ago when it died when i was driving. what could this be? ive heard a few different things that it could be(timing, the distributor cap, fuel pump, fuel injector, alternator, etc. idk any help would be nice. thanks!

The altenator could be dying and just not dead yet.

Go turn on your car, and take off the negative battery terminal, and rev the car a few times. If it stays on, your altenator is still good, if it shuts off, change the altenator so you dont get stuck somewhere and start going through batterys with your tanks of gas (like I did before)

Checking the codes on the ecu would be an appropriate first step.

Go to web site http://www.240sx.org/faq and look up 'ECM'. Since you didn't tell us what year the car was, the web site has two entries: SOHC and DOHC
