Hi i just remade my screen name i was a member a few years back and have still used this site to find info on parts and mods for my 240 but i ran into something that i cant find in the FAQ.

I have a 89 240sx ka24e exhaust, intake, header, UDP, and electric fan. when i turn my car off it diesels or thats what i thought, until i was just sitting inthere with the radio on and the key in the on position and i turned my car off and took the key out and the dash and sensor lights stay lit for like 3 seconds. So i did this a few more times and i think i have a short or maybe bad grounding but im not sure what would cause this. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Ben

did this happen right after you installed your electric fan.i only ask b/c myself and wilfonso have both installed electric fans and had the same problem. mine is wired to the fuel pump and i think his is the same. the only thing i could come up with is that the electric fan continues to spin for a few seconds after the car is shut off and generates power as it spins. there for still running the car. i rewired mine to a switch on the dash and the problem went away.

Just having it run the fuel pump won't keep your car going. Your computer will be off so your injectors won't even open, much less will you have spark. Not to mention that the inertia of your fan can't generate enough electricity to run a high pressure fuel pump for any measurable amount of time.

Your problem is something else.

awww, sounds like somebody is upset i'm right. maybe not for the right reasons but it is the wiring into the fuel pump that screws it up.

My guess is you guys were wirning to the wrong wire on the relay. If you did that the fan would generate enough voltage to power the fuel pump relay long enough to cause this problem. The ecm should shut down but if your back feeding the circuit for the ignition like that I could see the ecm having enough voltage to continue to hold the ECCS relay closed and power the rest of the system to run. Untill the fan stops spinning. Interesting glitch.

its electrical feedback. move the fan to a circuit thats not connected to the starting/ignition system and and it will go away.
