I installed a used engine, compression is good, has spark and fuel. The problem is, the car starts but i have to keep it wot for it to stay started. I step on the gas harder and it dies. Sometimes it just raises to 4000 rpm by itself than losses all power. This is weird. I have crower stage 2 cams, z32 maf, jwt tune. My wideband is reading max lean right now. Any ideas? Could a bad maf cause this? The rear o2 sensore is not hooked up at all and the egr is blocked off.

So if you jsut start the car it will automatically die unless you hit the throttle?Either you have a huge vaccum leak, or your cam timing is off. I jsut went throught the cam itming, my chain rotated one click so both my cams were off one tooth. Car would start but immediately die. my wideband was reading rich I think...I didn't really watch it..... I had v2 cams with enthalpy tune and z32mafs

I have a 96, my cam timing is dead on, because when i installed the v2, i made sure the lobes were facing out second mark on crank. Anyways, i cranked it up today and it idled at 500 with 10 vac. When i gave it gas, it would bog and sputter. I'm gonna try to move the distributer back and forth a tooth tomorrow and see what happens. My iacv has not been touched, i did not move it or anything.
