Car Starting but doesn't stay running?

okay, so I am going to look a 240sx hatch this week with a 95 Engine swapped in. I want it to replace my Sunfire as a daily beater. They guy claims that it starts but does not stay running. Anyone have any clues on this? I want to look at it, while knowing what I could do to get it running.

well with not a lot of info it could be a lot of things. vacume leak or fuel pump/filter. put that is a really ruff guess

It might be an electrical issue that may cause you to get a whole new harness later down the road

Keep looking, you'll find what you want

If he's giving it away dirt cheap, then pick it up, if not, don't bother

Then again, it could be something stupid - like needs a new alternator

i bought a 90 like two weeks ago. would stay running. turned out to be a P.A.I.R valve that was dumping exhaust into the intake and stalling the car, that and it need general maintenance BAD. i got mine for 700 with 80k miles on it. if the guy wants too much. like dude said, don't waste your time. but could be a simple fix. mine had only cost me about two hundred so far and it runs great. good luck to ya. -mike-
