Car start ticking after the car get turn off?

Ok when ever after I drive my car. I can hear it ticking for about a min or 2 after I turn the car off from the drive! I think it is the cat but I just want to make sure before I change it out. it is a 90 S13 5 speed coupe. Total stock!:help Thanks alot

is it coming from the engine or the underside of the car?

It is normal m ost cars do that

Its the cooling of the engine I believe it has to do with the contraction and expansion from the heat.

good way to describe it might be like a tapping sound? mebbe.. mebbe not o_O
