car stalls out friend just got it.

Ok so my friend just picked up an sr swapped s13 hatch. which runs fine and pulls ok and all of that but it dies out at stop lights and whatnot. i was thinking it was because it's running an hks bov atmospheric and not recirculated? im i right in assuming that? We're just wondering where to start with it. It also has a bit of a misfire at about 5 grand when you get on it. we're new to the sr's so we're a bit lost on them so i figured i'd post up because i figure they're somewhat common/simple problems.
