Basically I put a new battery in my car and installed a new cone air filter onto my aftermarket intake. (already had an intake just bought a new filter) and when I turned my car on, the damn thing keeps stalling, or if it doesnt stall out, it idles at a very low 300rpm.

The car drove fine for the 1 mile test trip I did, but still idled low. I had the battery disconnected for like 20 hours overnight so maybe my ecu reset and isnt compensating for my new air filter??

It is a 2001.5, and Im unable to find a manual for the 2001.5 anywhere, only 01 and 02 and Im pretty sure the idle air relearn was different for the 2001.5

Can anyone shed any light on why my car would be idling so low??

There is no 2001.5 QX4 FSM. Use the 2001.5 Pathfinder FSM, I guess.

What is your battery voltage with the engine idling? Check that all the air intake plumbing is tight and free of leaks.

Have you got the old air filter? Reinstall it. Or see how it idles without an air filter.

Could you have knocked a vacuum line loose? There are a mess of them in the air filter area.

And check the battery voltage.

I dont see the 2001.5 pathy manual either.. where do you see it listed??

I dont have the old air filter, already went with the garbage.

Voltage was 12.9 with the car off, never checked with the car running I guess Ill do that in the morning

I"doubt" there is a vacuum leak, as I double checked all lines and replaced some not to long ago that looked fatigued, but I can do the carb cleaner spray check to ensure that.

Would not having ENOUGH vacuum cause a low idle?

Heck the car is almost undriveable with the idle this low I dont know what to do

No CEL? Maybe try cleaning MAF sensor, throttle body, IACV valve?

New filter, new battery, you I am assuming did the work?

First, determine and record battery voltage with car off, measure at the terminals of the battery + to - at the battery.
Ten measure the voltage from the car battery + to a good ground, then an engine ground and then a body ground...the voltage at each location must be equal to that of the battery terminal charge, no lower.

If any section is lower that section ground is dirty.

The air supply going to the intake manifold may be compromised with the filter or mods to the intake and thus the MAF reads outside the norm. If your change happened as a result of this latest change and NOT before the new filter may be blocking too much air.

You can test this by installing the old filter, but if you do not have the old filter can you button the air box up without a filter and test?

Check your idle air control and reburn of exhaust gases for blockages by carbon. Running the wrong or high test gas when not needed can cause carbon blockage.

Other things to verify because of human intervention, time passing and coincidence: Timing, compression and voltage at off, idle and at 2500 RPM.

Assumption that ECU, wiring to and from ECU all harnesses and no MIL warnings and gasoline supply to and back to tank are normal.

Compression, timing, air, fuel and spark are all needed at the right time and amount .

Check all and make sure voltage is good at the 12 V level and at ignition. A lot of investigating that must be verified recorded...to keep your sanity.
