New filter, new battery, you I am assuming did the work?
First, determine and record battery voltage with car off, measure at the terminals of the battery + to - at the battery.
Ten measure the voltage from the car battery + to a good ground, then an engine ground and then a body ground...the voltage at each location must be equal to that of the battery terminal charge, no lower.
If any section is lower that section ground is dirty.
The air supply going to the intake manifold may be compromised with the filter or mods to the intake and thus the MAF reads outside the norm. If your change happened as a result of this latest change and NOT before the new filter may be blocking too much air.
You can test this by installing the old filter, but if you do not have the old filter can you button the air box up without a filter and test?
Check your idle air control and reburn of exhaust gases for blockages by carbon. Running the wrong or high test gas when not needed can cause carbon blockage.
Other things to verify because of human intervention, time passing and coincidence: Timing, compression and voltage at off, idle and at 2500 RPM.
Assumption that ECU, wiring to and from ECU all harnesses and no MIL warnings and gasoline supply to and back to tank are normal.
Compression, timing, air, fuel and spark are all needed at the right time and amount .
Check all and make sure voltage is good at the 12 V level and at ignition. A lot of investigating that must be verified recorded...to keep your sanity.
