1993 Nissan 240sx SEKA24DE

Car has New Alternator, New Distributor, New Rotor Cap and New Rotor Button.

Well for sure i know its not the starter. Earlier this morning i was gonna take it to the shop to get the alternator checked out when on the way there i was in third coasting at around 45 and the rpms drop to zero so i get into a left turn lane to clutch in and start it again. It cranks and cranks and it feels like the battery is loosing power. Well lucky for me my dad is in the back of me in his car he jumps out and helps me push it into this side street by a church and community. I didn't let off the clutch when i was at 45 and i didn't stall out. I hope it isn't a really bad electrical issue.

are your spark plugs sparking? is your fuel pump working. You should hear it for 5 seconds when you turn ignition on. are your spark plugs wet with fuel? battery good? loose alternator belt?

So i get the car back from the shop saying there is broken wire some where in the harness and they fix it for free. Well the car didn't stall on its way home yesterday from the shop. Today i move my car to the drive way to change the clutch master cylinder and slave clyinder and i changed it after i parked it. Well after its changed i drive it around to test its got no air in the master or slave cylinder. Well after everything checked out i parked infront of my garge and let it idle for 5 minutes and it stalls just idling there in my drive way.

The problem with the idle that you're encountering could be the TPS system or the IAA adjustment. The first thing to check is the TPS harness connector pins. The connector is located on the passenger's side of the motor just above the throttle assembly. Look at the pins and see if there's oxidation on them. If so, clean them with fine steel wool then lightly coat them with 'dielectric lubricant' which you can get at most autoparts stores.

For a procedure on adjusting the TPS, go the http://www.240sx.org web site, FAQ section and look up 'Throttle Position Sensor DOHC'.

To adjust the IAA, Fully warm up the motor. Shut motor off. Disconnect the TPS harness connector. Start motor. Check the idle speed. It should read 650 RPM; If not, adjust the idle screw until you get 650 RPM. The idle screw is located on the passenger's side of the motor near the firewall below the intake manifold. Stop the motor. Reconnect the TPS harness connector. Start motor. The idle speed should now be 700 RPM.

As a side note, make sure the air filter is clean. If it's got 15,000 MI on it, replace it.

I have a guestion if the iacv is gunked up and making the car stall how long does it usually take for the car to start up again. I am gonna try to get this looked at. Cause when my car dies it takes like 30- 40 minutes for it to start.
