I have a 2011 Altima with 206k miles. Car has been driving good both on street and highway. This afternoon on my way home from work, got on the highway with no problem. But, all of a sudden I felt it sputter once as I accelerated. Car drove good at 80mph. It did sputter a couple of times on the highway. When I exited the highway and came to a stop it idled really rough. As I made my way home on surface streets it kept sputtering as I accelerated. Once at home Inparked and let it idle and it kept idling rough. What can possibly be wrong??????

MORE INFO ON THIS ISSUE- Went out to start the car. It started right up. When shifted to drive the car idling at about 900rpm and rough. When car on park or neutral it idles at about 950rpm but every couple seconds self accelerates to 1000rpm and drops back down to 950rpm while still having a rough idle!!

Sounds like maybe a bug in the MAF. Try cleaning it out.

Will clean it out tomorrow. Will post the results

Just went out and changed the air filter and cleaned out the MAF. Car is still acting the same.
