Hey im new with Nico!

Back to topic I was being bored like a month ago and was looking at a sponsorships sight where you sign up with this website and they find you sponsors to give you free parts etc. So I get a call yesterday and a guy asking if I was still interested and if i would like to get a sponsor for my car, he also told me all i have to do is go to a few local car shows hand out some flyer's and thats it thats the catch? Honestly the way ive been brought up is nothing is free. Looking for some insight from anyone about this and if i should go ahead with it.

I honestly would not trust them, and once you are sponsored by them, you are signing a contract to do what they want you to do, make sure you read it carefully or you will be stuck doing things an average person won't be able to do.

My Advice is to build your car up the way you like it (privately funded) snap some shots, send them in to magazines, go to car shows and little by little get your name out there.

If you are good at what you do than companies will find you to promote their stuff. Its a long road but its not bogus. You can also actively search to find sponsorships, but DO NOT use a Middle Man!! BAD NEWS!

Yeah i was all iffy talking to the guy and told him "sounds great ill fill the rest of it out and ill hear from you" just to get off the phone and back to work. But yeah thanks for the insight. I just wasnt sure if there was some1 here who has already done this sort of thing and is Pro or Con for it. Anyway, thanks, beautiful car BTW. Love 240's

uhh...uhh...keeping mouth shut...

Realistically the best way to build show cars, is do one by yourself. Then, when you're ready for your second car you can take photos and magazine editorials from your first car to different companies. That is the best way to get sponsors. Usually you have to pay for the first one.

I'd do it the way MagikDragon and Kyle said. My brother has done the same thing four times (with an rx7, eclipse, 350z, and an IS250), and never had any problems. For instance, my brother built most of his Z with his own money, then contacted companies and he got things for free or at cost, which helps. He gets a free set of TOYO tires every year, got a pair of Corbeau seats and a set of Work V's at cost. His cars have been put in manufacturers booths at local car shows.

Here are the two cars he's got now, in the TOYO booth in last year's DUB Custom Auto Show

I wish my Altima looked like one of his cars... But anyway, good luck with your Altima!
