car splutters

my car overheated and melted the plug wires so i replaced them then started the car up and it sluttered like something was wrong with the spark plugs so i let it sit for a day my friend started it and drove it around maybe a bout a mie and it was fine . then i drove it it started to overheat again(bad water pump) so i let it sit and coll and tried to drive it again but it did the same spluttering as before. well i replacd the water pump and spark plugs but it still splutters. what could be the porblem? this is a 91 nissan 240sx with a 93 motor

have you checked your spark plug wells

is there a bunch of orange **** in there?

if so, spray some brake cleaner in there to clean it out, maybe if you can find something that will fit down in there you could scrub some too but dont use anything that could tear and leave stuff in there. When thats finished, spray it all out with an air hose.

If thats not it, check your distributor and make sure theres good connections to all wires, I cant see from the problem you mentioned how you would get moisture in that area but its worth a shot.

well i checked the car by running the engine and pulling the spark plug wires out one by one it turns out something is wrong with 2&3 what could be the problem (distributor?,wires?)

You may want to try doing a compression check. If the compression is low on both 2 & 3 then it could be a blown head gasket as Cipher_TX mentioned.

milton i didnt know you were on here. what the hell did you do to your car manne

coolant was leaking out the block and caused the car to over heat then the water pmp went bad an now this. i need a sr badly.
