Car Speed Sensor 1 (MTR)

Hey all,

Through the self-diagnostics diagnosis and rigorous reading of the FSM I have concluded that the reason my ACTSUS light is on, and the meaning behind my suspensions behaviour is a busted CAR SPEED SENSOR 1 (MTR).

Interestingly I cannot find the sensor mentioned anywhere in the FSM regarding the location and removal of the sensor.

Can anyone fill me in regarding the above... location and removal?

Also - being in Australia - its difficult to buy Infiniti parts.

Anyone able to enlighten me to who may stock the required part?

Could it be the speed / revolution / turbine sensor mounted on top of the transmission? It's been called many things on NICO but I think the FSM calls it a speed sensor. Look in the electrical section of the FSM. There's a couple of pages near the rear showing locations of electrical sensors. The one I'm talking about will be on the passenger compartment sensors page.

I notice in the bottom pic it has the speed sensor in the bottom right corner by the air bag control unit.

What specifically is its location though in reference to that picture... is it in between the seats near the armrest somewhere?

I'm going to guess it's on/in the trans.

Nissan may stock the part.... If not, they can usually order the part from Japan.(That's how I got my water pump)
