Recently my car has started smoking after start and warming up. Smoke is white and doesn't smell sweet so I dont think it is coolant. I ran a compresion test and came up with 165 across all cyclinders, so the headgasket should be good. After it is warmed up and I drive it for a bit the smoke goes away. If I shut it off and let it sit for about 30 mins it goes through the whole cycle again. Doesn't seem to do it as much when it is warmer outside, and I also notice water from the tailpipe, enough to make a little puddle sometimes. Dunno if its smoking from the condensation in the system. Also running with no cat, just a test pipe if that info helps.

Just wanted to see if anyone had any opinions on what it may be. I'm currently left scratching my head.

Any help / sugggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advanceWei

It could be the oil seal on the turbo...

is it a stock motorset, or has anything been modified? It could be that you have to much oil going to the turbo because of no restrictor. Hows the turbine shaft play feel......real sloppy or what?

try using a little bit of lucas or a tiny bit of smoke be gone (molasses) and see what that does for you.

yeah the motor is stock. I had swapped the ca t25 for the sr one. The oil seals went out on the sr unit so I put the ca one back in. There is very little shaft play on the turbo, and it didn't smoke before I swapped it out for the sr one the first time. haven't tried the smoke be gone stuff yet so I'll give it a shot. If anyone else has suggestions please feel free to comment as well.

thanks guys Wei
