Just got myself a 95 240sx KA24 (DE), bought it with 163k on it, its my first standard transmission car. The problem I have is after I go for a drive my car begins to REAK of burned rubber. No I am not doing burn outs, i am simply driving. Since its my first manual transmission car the instinctive response would be that I am burning up the clutch, but I dont believe so. I rarely bunny hop and even less so stall. I have inspected my car after each drive and smelled around the transmission, and the smell is very faint there, but when I open the hood the smell is very profound.

PLEASE help me solve this problem, its breaking my heart

Car: Nothing noteworthy at the moment...

Unfortunately there are a lot of things that can smell like "burnt rubber". Inspect all your belts and hoses. Look for leaks in the coolant system.

If you bought the car used, one of the things ive noticed is most of the different wire covers and things really start to wear and heat/melt when it starts driving again.

It should be your belts.

Check all your belts. One might be fraying and caught a pulley.

Aside from that, check your exhaust for foreign objects stuck on there.
