Car Shutting off Randomly

Sigh. Hey guys what's up? I have a new problem that decided to show its head and im not sure if this is all connected but.... Starting yesterday when i turn the car on and drive it the RPMS start jumping over 1000 then it goes down the 200 then it did this about 3 times and it just shut off. The battery signal did come up but no check engine. As soon as i do it ( this is when my foot is on the break at a light ) i put the tran in park and it turns right back on no problems. It did it twice to me yesterday and while it's doing the RPM jumping it feels like the car wants to go but cant. Then boom. Shuts off and starts right back up again.

I checked the alternator by unplugging the negative cable while the car is running and the car continued to run. I checked the resistance between the coil connectors and pulled them out one by one while idling, nothing is wrong. So any ideas guys?

Sounds like exactly the same problem I had. I replaced the MAF on 4-14-09 & the car is running perfect since.

i replaced the maf just about a week ago. there was some dirt in there though and i cleaned it. ( its a reman) and i havent had the problem since and i actually drove to the shore lol.

The "new" remanufactured unit had dirt in it? if it did I would return it & get another.

i think i got some dirt in it, since i cleaned it i havent had any problems i bought it from napa so it should be somewhat decent lol.

ehhh cancel that lol. This mofo almost shut off on me when i was in jersey but it's only when my foot is on the break i think it's time to clean the IAC valve is there a thread for that?

camsensor wiring did it to me.shake wiring harness while car is running (front driver side ) found out that cam sensor plug bad---GOOD luck .Also tps does it works with trans
