Hey people, my 240's been acting weird lately

sometimes when im driving on the road, it'll shut off while i'm coasting in neutral. Engine drops to 0 rpm completely, all accessories, pw steering, etc shut off

My friend says its the neutral safety switch, but I feel like it could be a wiring hassle. If you've had any experience or input on this please help!

thanks in advance

Happen right after you are at higher RPMs? Have problems idling? Could be dirty IACV.

No not right after high rpms, after just cruising, usually around 45-50mph

Idle is a bit jumpy sometimes but consistently is at 800-1200

I'd clean the IACV to see if it helps.

I would check for loose or corroded electrical connections. What you want to do is jiggle the wires around your fuel injectors and work your way to the TPS sensor, while the engine is running. If the idle changes while you are jiggling the wires, then you've found the problem. I suspect it might be the TPS sensor wires. Over time some of the insulation on the factory wires tend to deteriorate. So check the wires first, because it's the easiest to do compared to removing the IACV valve.

If nothing changes, then move on to IACV valve and clean it out. Also remember to replace the gasket for the IACV valve. You can also use that valve cover gasket stuff.
