car shuts off when i brake

this problem started last week, the car turns on fine but as soon as i press the brake pedal to shift gears it shuts off, any ideas thanks. 96 s14

Just a guess, masive vacum leak in power brake boster?

nah, i think thats what the check valve is for

i'm guessing it's an automaticcheck the brake switch, bulbs and the wiring/sensors on the auto transmission

Mine did this and it was a freaking bad alternator. Eventually I had to keep it at 3-4K to just keep the car running...that's when I gave up looking for a vacuum issue

check your charging/battery system to eliminate the easy stuff.
