yesterday I was aproaching a red light and all of a sudden my car shut off I noticed that i still had radio tho luckly before I can case a major traffic jam I managed to restart the car Im worried that my car may shut off while on the highway, since I do alot of highway driving.

What can cause the car to just shut off a friend suggested to change the fuel filter ? or could it be the gas ? my bro borrowed my car yesterday and he said he put 87 octane I normally run 91 or higher

Ok here's the rundown

since last week my car had been burning oil so I put some lucas oil treatment and its not blowing blue smoke anymore.

but also the tach, the RMP one has been acting abit strange it seems jitery at times at idle as well sometimes i noticed the rpm gauge wold not work at all and there are no starting problems

i havent done a tune yet this year, altough I just got my car last nov from a used dealership

tach acting strange too......hmmmm, maybe loose fuse box connection, or loose ecu harness. do a tune up and it will be easier to troubleshoot.
