Hey all, my car has been shaking a little bit and vibrating a bit also around idle but the rpm's are constant. Is this due to the motor or transmission mounts or is somthing else going on? Its a 89 with 152k so I figured its gotta be one of those two. If anyones got soem suggestions let me know.

Other than the shaking, does the motor run alright. Does it seem to have no power? If the motor is working fine then I would say check your engine or transmission mounts like you said before.

This is going to sound really stupid, but I'm assuming that you checked if your car was aligned and your wheels are balanced, right? Because before you invest in getting new mounts, you might just fix your problem.

Could also be your tires, but if it's really vibrating a LOT, my guess would be alignment.

Its not the alignment. I work at a sears auto and all my alignment and balancing is on the dot. It will shake when its just sitting at a stop light or when i let the car warm up in the morning. The motor doesn't sound like its having a problem, it purss like all our KA's do :P

Hmm, my car has a similar problem, but its not irritating. I always figured that it was just the beefy 2.4 l 4's natural rumble. kinda like a big v8 or something.

When I broke an engine mount in my Prelude, it would violently jerk the car on start-up, and shake a fair bit whether moving or not, so long as the engine was running.

have you opened the engine bay and looked for engine rock? I would try to find somebody else with a 240 and compare.
