Alright, ive been looking around for a little while and im having trouble deciding on a keyless entry/car alarm for my 240. I have an SE so i have the power features, but its a manual so i really dont want to look into any remote start ideas. There are always a ton posted on ebay and other various sites, and im trying to find if anyone has Actually gone that route. I dont need the most top of the line alarm, just somethin "pretty good." Im looking for any recomendations/information regarding alarms that usually go for 50-100 dollars on ebay. (from the k-9 mundials, autopage, bulldogs and so on) What do you guys think?

Are you positive you can install it yourself? If not you might be better off buying one from a shop that will install it as well. Many shops won't install one you bring in yourself and others, like mine, charge quite a bit more if you supply your own alarm becaue we aren't making anything off the alarm, it takes longer as it's not one we do daily, etc.

Since I have been in business I've sold K-9, Excalibur, Autopage, Code Alarm, Carbine, Crimestopper, Hornet, AAMP, Magnadyne, Marksman, and some others. The only ones I am not to excited about now are the Crimestopper. Some of their new stuff has gone down in quality. The Omega R&D products were always good and they are awesome about warranty if something does go wrong. Omega makes K-9, Excalibur, Freedom, Executive, and some others. I really like the new Marksman alarms as well. The new Code Alarm models are ok but I liked their old stuff much better. I haven't done much with Autopage recently but they were always nice when I did years ago. Of course all the DEI products are good, Viper, Python, Hornet, etc. I just don't really like the company. The Microsoft of the car audio/security industry and I never liked their customer service.

Really? are you kidding> Every dealer I worked for in the last 11 years always had either DEI or Clifford products, now that they are combined The products from Clifford started to greatly dissipate all the bugs. Their customer service may not have matched their dealer support, but that is who is supposed to handle the customer service they are really just a manufacture/marketing firm. The best dealer support was from alpine when they still made alarms. I guess this depends on how much they value your business as dealer, we always had top tier handling of all issues, otherwise I would have escalated it to our buyer, and then all of their shipments were put on hold. This never ever happened with DEI, but a few other brands that make speakers had a run in or two.
